"Champion of each LODBRS, Bracket, Sportsman and PCE Class, will be determined by points accumulated during qualifying AND ROUND WINS at the LODBRS World Finals. Pairings for ‘Shot at the Title’, will be according to qualifying position for LODBRS World Finals. Should there a tie for the point lead, a run-off will be held, and if necessary pairings will be by a blind draw."
Just going by what Lucas has published on their website, the Champion will be determined by the point earned from their qualifying spot and from any round wins during eliminations.
According to Ken Dollar last week, the 16 boats that will make up the "Shot at the Title" will be "invited" boats based on the points accumulated at your 5 regional (division) events.
When you get to the finals, you will run qualifying on Friday and 4 rounds of eliminations on Saturday to determine the National Champion in each class.
Additionally, anybody and everybody else in the whole world is welcome to race at the finals for a finals title.
The "Shot at the Title" is a separate race within a race... much like the Pro Mod Shoot-out that the SDBA had at Ft Worth.
Hope that makes some sense...
and no, bp... I didn't see it in writing yet, but this is the best info I have at this point...

Since SLDBA has 3 races of their own... how will the points fund work? Will money only go to the points fund from those 3 races? I won't be running for points, but a buddy called me and asked. He also asked how SLDBA could put on 3 races and consider themselves a club still. (I think this is a rhetorical question) I said I had no idea about either answer and would see if I could find out anything.
Buzz?? Any ideas about points fund.

Nope. I don't know. Have him call the points chair and ask or any of the board members they can find out.
He also asked "how SLDBA could put on 3 races and consider themselves a club still." (I think this is a rhetorical question)
WOW WAGS!!!! I didn't know you could throw your voice like that. I never even saw your lips move! Well this has been going on for a LOOONG time now with you and your hard on with the SLDBA. Why don't you just not race with them or better yet, step up and take on the responsability to help find new tracks, promoters and money for them to do more races. You seem to have PLENTY of TIME to bitch and moan about it why not DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!! I HAVE FOR 20 YEARS. I AM DONE WITH THE BITCHING!!!!! If you don't offer a solution then YOUR PART OF THE PROBLEM!!! I take a lot of pride in the hard work I have done for the SLDBA and in the time and effort that others have put in and to listen to you go on week after week about the same things are getting a little OLD and it doesn't solve anything. STEP UP!!

BTW, I was asked the question. I am man enough to say if it was my question. You think I don't have the balls to say my opinion? I know you are wrong. "Why don't I not race with them"... well, it may be in the future. I am not planning on going to some races already. If they were not less than 50 miles for 2 races, I would not go to more than a couple.
"Well this has been going on for a LOOONG time now with you and your hard on with the SLDBA"
Well, Buzz.... were you stepping up and running your mouth when CZ, Tim, Rafael, etc. were spewing their bullshit about KDBA for YEARS? I never heard you then. So, I will continue to say what I want. I will post questions for others if they ask. I figure I have YEARS of "bashing" as reparations for what the guys currently or previously on your board have done.
My question to you is .... how does it feel. Seems as the shoe on the other foot does not sit well with you or CZ. Well, tough SHIT. As I told CZ... you are reaping what you have sewn. Steve Wagner

Let me make myself clear. Here is my opinion of the SLDBA... Please feel free to copy and paste if you need to refer to it in the future.
I sincerely hope SLDBA gets back to where it was 10 years ago. 100+ boats at St. Louis (I actually think there were 120 to 130 boats there), 85+ boats every where else. Great shows, etc. I think the racers are awesome. Great guys and gals. I like to hang out with them and race against them. Board of Directors--- Past--- has had some issues. It was obvious to everyone at the meeting why SLDBA and KDBA have not gotten together in many, many years. There were racers there that had their eyes opened. Present-- I think and hope there will be more level headed/ logical decisions made. Maybe racer friendly is the right wording.
So to recap. I hope SLDBA returns to its former place in racing. I am optimistic that positive changes will be made in the future.
BTW... the race(s) I am not planning on attending have nothing to do with SLDBA or racing. I have other interests I wish to persue.

SLDBA is a great club with great people and I enjoy racing with them. The problem with SLDBA is not that it only has three races this year, it's problem is three members. I'm sure that Wags and myself aren't the only ones that agree with that, were just the ones that take the flack for saying it. I will continue to support SLDBA and look forward to racing with them for years to come.

I have not said ANYTHING negative about KDBA and have only tried to promote DRAG BOAT RACING. If "I" felt it was not in the best intrest for SLDBA to do something "I" voted against it(when I was on the board)when it still passed I let it go and moved on. Did "I" not stand up for KDBA at the general membership meeting and push for the co-points deal?? (let by gones be by gones) I thought everyone was going to try and set their differences a side and move forward when Lucas jumped in but it seems to be the same old thing. If you have a problem with the board take it up with them not on here. If you don't like someone in a position vote them out. Get a voting membership and vote them out. It would have taken less than 20 people to turn in ballots to change the whole outcome of everything. "My question to you is .... how does it feel. Seems as the shoe on the other foot does not sit well with you or CZ. Well, tough SHIT."
If you have a problem with CZ fine. That is between you and him and no one else. My point is why do you have to degrade the whole organization which has a lot more people than the 9 who hold board position and make the decisions. The cheap shots (from both sides)do nothing to promote the sport. I am planning on supporting both because it make sense to me. TRYING TO BE POSITIVE.

I will give up the "cheap shots" about March. For now it is still fun. By then weather will be nicer and I will give the new board a chance (as is fair) and sit back and watch. I do my part for boat racing. (as you have and do) I was told by CZ I was not SLDBA board member material several years ago. This is why I have never run for and have no desire to be on the board. Now, for you Buzz. Yes, I believe you were not part of the problem. I believe you tried to promote the adventure. Good for you! Thanks. It is appreciated.

Buzz.... BTW... the "you are reaping what you have sewn" was not a "you" to you (Buzz)... it was a general "you" as in that is what I said to CZ and it goes for the other "yous" that were doing the bashing. Just to clarify. Wags
And another thing... I say what I have to say to whomever and wherever. I am not some cowardly pANsy that will ony talk beind someones back. (again, not direted at you Buzz) Direected at the pansies that do it. Wags

The SLDBA has an agreement with the SDBA and the LODBRS that any SLDBA boat that participates in one of their races they will pay the points fund money to SLDBA.
