Just got home from the Service for Jerry and all I can say is that we could all only hope that when we leave this earth that there will be the same outpouring of support, love and respect shown today!

Craig and Jim did a great job and after going to Jim Tucker's and Jerry's services, what stands out to me is the amazingly strong, supportive women that they have in their lives.

We celebrated Jerry's life and remembered what he meant to all of us... The worst of days and the best of days....

Hug somebody you love and remember what they mean to you....!

Very well said Gary, we have such a strong race family, that days like today are touching yet difficult.

Patty....

You right about that.

Me and my dad got there pretty early and parked. Right behind us was Johnny Love with his Great Dane hanging out of the rear window of his car.

Johnny parked about 6 or 8 spaces away from us, got out of his car in a boat t-shirt and shorts and started walking towards us.

Right as he got about 1/2 way to me, a nice young man in a suit approached Johnny and said that this parking area was for family.....

Johnny never stopped walking and said...

"...We're all Family dude....!!!"

Gary, when we arrived the "parking Director" ask "Are you family or friends?", and without batting an eye I simply said "FAMILY!". When he told to to go get in the percission line I said "Oh, thanks but we'll just go over here to the right with the rest of the family." He had the funniest loomk on his face when I pulled away.

Before the service the funeral director told us, Jim and I, to go out to the waiting area with the family. He was trying to get everyone in the church so we could pray with the family. I couldn't hold back anymore....I told him, "we might as well do the prayer with the family in the main church, cause we are all family".
Even the Pastor at the church was impressed, he said we had a great group of "followers". I said "nope, this is our family....here's your sign".

God Bless,
Craig

Craig, wouldn't the world be a much better place if everyone looked at things the way drag boat racers do?

Hello everyone, this is Jerry Davis' daughter, Rene'. I justed wanted to thank everyone for the friendship you shared with my dad, your kind words of encouragement and the constant prayers during his battle with cancer. Also, we received a grand out pouring of love from his racing family at his viewing and funeral service. There were so many people and beautiful flowers. My dad would have felt so loved and so honored.

With love and appreciation,
Rene' Davis Francis
